The Secret is Out Mount Pleasant’s appeal stays strong as prices inch up

As the name implies, just east of the Cooper River, homebuyers are flocking to East Cooper: specifically Mount Pleasant and the area’s friendly, suburban towns. From the historic Old Village to the sands of Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms and stretching north for more rural, countryside living, more than 81,000 people call the region home.

Much of this growth can be attributed to the fact that few areas in the Lowcountry offer such diversity in housing options as the swath of land east of Charleston’s peninsula, from beach bungalows to rural farms.
